All of these healthy behaviors can reduce the risk of cancer and other diseases.

For one thing, what I learned going to cosmetology school is that you need to shampoo your hair 2 times to get the crap out of your hair. The first time you shampoo your hair, you bring the dirt up to the surface, and the 2nd time you shampoo, you get all the residual dirt out of your hair. The second time you shampoo your hair, just use a dime size amount.

Now that you shampooed your hair, you can use a conditioner, especially if it has silk in it.

The biggest secret to shiny hair is to use either lemon juice or apple cider vinegar in a spray bottle to get your hair back to its natural ph and closes the cuticle. When the cuticle is closed that’s when you hair is shiny.

Make sure you use a natural bristle brush or comb and always comb in the direction the hair falls, which is down.

If you want to use a light mousse, that’s fine but after you comb it, just leave it alone and let it dry naturally.

Now if you blow dry your hair, again, blow dry it in a downward motion. This allows the cuticle to stick together naturally. Then your hair will reflect light. In Part 2, of Designing a Trading System in MetaStock I covered how to code the first two of the four major components of a mechanical entry system. I had explained the coding of price and liquidity. In this article, I will cover the steps for coding the remaining two components, trend and volatility, into MetaStock. In the end, you will have the complete codes for a mechanical entry system.

Let’s begin with trend identification. Remember, ‘the trend is your friend’ when trading. You always want to trade with the trend, not against it. Think of it this way, if you were swimming in the sea, and got yourself caught in a rip tide, is it easier to swim with the current or against it? It is the same with trading with a trend.

There are many ways to identify trends, and it’s not particularly important which method you use. You just need to use one. One of my preferred methods for identifying trending stocks is to find stocks that are trading at their current highs. You can do this by stipulating that the highest high price must have been achieved in the last ‘x’ number of days.

Once again, the variables you use will depend on the time frame you are trading. But for this example, you want the highest high price in the last 240 days to have occurred in the last 20 days.

Using the formula reference section in the MetaStock Programming Study Guide, you can find the syntax of the highest high function, and then plug in the details. Then, using the ‘less than’ symbol, you can specify the number of days must be less than 20. In MetaStock language that would be:

HHVBars(H,240) 1.5 and

ATR(21)/Mov(C,21,S)*100 1 and

Mov(v,21,s)*C > 200000 and

HHVBars(H,240) 1.5 and

ATR(21)/Mov(C,21,S)*100 < 6

You now have now a workable entry system. Not only did you construct a robust system, but it also adheres to the KISS principal (Keep It Simple Simon). This system can be cut and pasted into the Explorer within MetaStock. However, the entry is only the beginning of a successful trading system. In later parts of this series, you’ll find the rest of the components that you need to design a profitable trading system.

To achieve a more radiant skin and beautiful complexion, it is vital to use only the purest skin care products, particularly those made only with raw, living and natural ingredients. b) Lauryl sulphates: These corrosive chemical ingredients used in industry to manufacture garage floor cleaner and engine de-greasing are also one of the main ingredients in practically every major brand of shampoo, bubble bath, face wash, shaving gel & toothpaste. Lauryl sulphates eat away at the mucous lining of the skin, are highly irritant to the eyes and cause urinary tract infections.

c) Parabens: synthetic chemicals which have been linked with breast cancer. They are used as preservatives in many shampoos and personal care products.

Secondly, it is important to use skin care products that are made only with raw, living and natural ingredients such as raw cacao (cocoa) butter and cold-pressed oils. This is because the skin greatly nourishes from the life force, antioxidants, minerals, vitamins and essential fatty acids present in the natural ingredients.

The benefits are numerous. The life energy in the ingredients is highly nourishing and healing. Antioxidants for example, help to reverse skin ageing and inflammation and help heal scar tissue. Minerals play a key role in beautifying the skin, hair & nails. Sulphur, for instance, is a central component of collagen & connective tissue, which provides elasticity & flexibility to the tissues. Heated oils and fats when used in skin care products -even in the so-called most natural ones- are actually one of the worst offenders to skin beauty. They contain highly toxic transfatty acids, which may be absorbed into the cell membranes, causing them to become porous and weak. Heating oils and fats also leads to the creation of free radicals, which are unstable oxygen molecules that have lost an electron. Collagen, a protein molecule that constitutes 80% of the dermis, is particularly susceptible to free radical damage, which includes wrinkles, lingering scars and stiff collagen

In contrast, cold-pressed fats and oils kept at low temperatures help to beautify the skin, strengthen the cell membranes and restore nutrients to the tissues.

Media relations can be difficult, but also rewarding. And the lessons we learn from working with newspapers, magazines, radio, television, and online publications should increase the effectiveness of all our communication initiatives.

That’s because dealing with the media parallels our dealings with other stakeholders. In media relations, the competition to be heard and get a response intensifies. As the old saying about New York goes, “If you can make it here, you can make it anywhere!” So, if you can get the media to pick up your ’story,’ you should be able to get other stakeholders to do the same.

To get media attention for your story, you’ll need to make it appealing to reporters and editors. One way to do that is to ensure it includes at least one of the four characteristics that make a story attractive to magazines, newspapers, radio, television, and online publications.

These characteristics come out of a chapter on media relations in my book, A Manager’s Guide to Newsletters: Communicating for Results. In turn, that was based on 10 years I spent working as a radio news writer and announcer, and subsequent freelance contributions to print and electronic media.

While the details vary from medium to medium, reporters will look for these characteristics in your news release or article: widespread interest, something new, something dramatic, or timeliness.

Widespread interest refers to the degree of relevance for readers, listeners, or viewers. And, that’s specific to the audience of individual outlets. For example, a subject may be relevant to listeners at a youth-oriented radio station, but not an adult-oriented station.

Something new refers to unique or previously unknown information, as in conventional news stories. It may also be a new perspective on existing information (which is what most columnists and commentators create).

Dramatic interest: Does an unknown factor somehow grab readers’ or listeners’ imaginations and not let go? As I’m writing this, a strike by teachers dominates the headlines. And, we ask, “How long will the strike last?” and “Will students be able to complete their school years?” Two questions with inherent drama in them.

Our fourth category, timeliness, kicks in most often around major holidays and important events. Most obviously, stories about the Christmas spirit in December, articles about making and keeping resolutions in January, and gardening stories in spring. Many quick-moving media relations campaigns also connect with high-profile events.

Now, as you can imagine, stories often have overlapping characteristics, so for example, as the teachers’ strike goes on, we can expect articles about skipping the traditional spring break holiday so students can catch up. That directly brings in both drama and timeliness. Indirectly, it also increases widespread interest, because others will be affected if spring break is cancelled (think of resort employees, for example).

Here’s where the parallel with other communication comes in. If your other communication includes one or more, and preferably more of these characteristics, then it should be more effective. In fact, you might even start by asking yourself which characteristic you’ll try to include when you write your next memo.

In summary, by ensuring your story includes at least one of the four characteristics, your media relations initiative is off to a good start. In addition, you’ll improve your communication with other stakeholders.
